Only two years?

I have a hard time believe that James and I have only been married two years.  In the best way possible, it feels like we have been married for a lifetime.  How many couples can say that in just a mere two years they have:

…lived in 4 different places in the same city?
…combined held 7 different jobs?
…decided to become foster parents?
…and had a baby?

Ok that last one might be the reason that it feels like we have been married for so long.  It has been an incredible journey and I am so blessed and thankful for such an amazing husband.

Last year for our one year, we went to Kansas City to get away for the weekend.  It would have been a blast, but I was about 6 weeks pregnant at the time and was pretty much miserable the entire time.  We literally spent hours in the hotel just watching a Mythbusters marathon and a program on TLC about Ted Haggard.  Good stuff huh?

So this year, with a 4 1/2 month old, traveling out of state was not really an option, so James surprised me by arranging a little “stay-cation”.  We dropped B off at Grandma and Grandpa’s, then checked into a hotel where James got a free night because he is in ministry.  Thank you Settle Inn!  We had a DELICIOUS dinner at Biaggi’s, then shared a slice of cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory.  The next morning we went out for breakfast at Panera, then lunch at Subway, then saw We Bought A Zoo (with a TON of families–happy MLK Jr. day everyone).  It was literally an entire weekend stuffed into 23 hours and it was so fun.  We laughed, reminisced, and in general just rested.

Thank you James, for being such a wonderful husband and making our 2nd anniversary extremely special and fun.  You aren’t perfect, but you are perfect for me and I love you.
